Are you in your own fantasies?

My brother and I were im'ing about fantasies, masturbation, and tv boyfriends (specifically David Hewlett for me and Jake Gyllenhaal for him). I told him that I figured that the true test of an actual tv "boyfriend" status was whether I fantasized about a guy being with me as opposed to only being with other people. My brother agreed. We both agreed that we could have sex with ourselves whenever we wanted to, and didn't want to "waste it" by watching ourselves when there could be two hot guys doing it instead. But for a tv *boyfriend* (or celeb boyfriend, whatever) we would occasionally make an exception and have sex with him ourselves. Um, in our heads. Obviously.

We assumed that it was thus for everyone.

My husband was all, "Are you crazy?! Why would I fantasize about someone I liked being with somebody else??" He sounded kind of horrified.

Hmm. That made a lot of sense to me and to my brother as well. Maybe most people think the way my husband does. I could totally see where he was coming from, even if I don't accept it (because, hey, there are *lots* of reasons to fantasize about someone you like being with somebody else).
