Thanks, I'm a sucker for HP gifs, so I always snag good ones when I see them... (I wish I knew how to make my own)! XD

I knew they'd come in handy sometime!

I wish I could make animated gifs too. You can probably do it in the more sophisticated image-editing programs like Photoshop, but it still requires having every still frame to link together first.

You may yet have plenty more opportunities for them.

Wha...? How is that different from what she'd suggested, except that your character gets to be a victim as well? *scratches head* Does she have some prejudice against ideas other than her own or something?

I like how she starts to drop the tiny pretense she had of being fair and just falls into the mindset of, "you had an objection? I don't recall any objection! Let's RP what I want now, okay?"

Awesome. XD

That basically IS the difference. I think she wanted all of the attention to be on her character and didn't like that she'd be sharing the spotlight with my idea. I also think she had this expectation that a good RP meant one that didn't include anything she didn't feel personally excited for. In this case, that would be having to do half of the work in writing the character on top.

She's really a piece of work, isn't she?

Oh, of course, because god forbid that someone else enjoy the RP or have a character who gets some attention from other characters. Clearly, her Gary-Stu character is the only important person in the universe and everyone must pay homage to his holy ass.

I don't know how you didn't see this! You must be a bad RPer! Shame on you. :P

I know right?! What audacity I must have to think this had anything to do with my enjoyment.

In all seriousness, I don't know how I didn't see all this either. She was sending up warning signs left and right that I could recognize later, but when it was going on I just felt really uncomfortable and couldn't explain to her why.

I should have said it wasn't going to work out the minute she said no fandom characters and been done with it. Except then I wouldn't have this amazing story to tell, so it worked out in the end.

It's really hard to imagine how she would have refused--and I bet that will be in the next installment!

Makes me wonder, for all these poor, wandering RPers just looking for someone to write the other half of what only they want, will anyone ever satisfy them? For having been so willing to have an open mind for so long with this girl, you could start charging money for "whatever-you-want" RPing! Imagine how much business there would be!

You would be betting right, and I will try not to leave the story hanging there for too long.

I've actually pondered the idea of "professional" RPing before, but never looked into it more seriously-- just fantasized. It would have the potential for a market given all these people who seem to only want to play for their own enjoyment, or who somehow believe there's someone out there who wants nothing more than to be on the other end of their dream plot.

The concern is there's a host of potential legal issues. Even if you throw out copyright-based ones where someone's profiting off the use of another person's creation-- suppose someone wants to play out a smut log and lies about being over 18. Parents then find the log. I could be arrested even before the fact I charged money for it comes into play.

Aw, yeah... didn't think about those parts. Kinda of sucks when reality sets in sometimes.

Yeah. And in fairness, the age issue is something that could just as easily happen when you aren't charging money. This is part of why I no longer look into these sorts of ads and rely on networking through friends to find people. Most of these ads are complete strangers looking to smut it up with someone and that's actually pretty risky when all you have for reassurance on their age is their word.

I should specify that this was my reaction to the two paragraphs AFTER the recap, by the way. Yes.
