25 Favorite Characters
Tagged by wafuru, the 25 favorite characters meme. It's really hard for me to leave characters off a list and limit it to 25. That's the reason I get into a series, and the more I like a series, the more likely it is that I'm fascinated by the majority of the characters. I'm not even going to try keeping it to one a series at first. I'll need all the repeats since my anime exposure is not as broad as hers XD Took me a while to get through this, LW-- sorry ^_^; I think they're pretty much in order.
1. Tsukiyono Omi (Weiß Kreuz): What can I say? He's just loveable. And he's so complex, with dualities in child or adult, family in blood or spirit, innocent or guilty, bright or dark, perceptive or oblivious.
2. Hidaka Ken (Weiß Kreuz): While I love Omi for his complexity, I love Ken for his simplicity. He's a great character. He's loyal, friendly, and honest, and I find his personality and boy-next-door aura very charming.
3. Shindou Shuichi (Gravitation): Because he's insane XD His emotional extremes crack me up and remind me of myself, while his devotion and determination touches me.
4. Orochimaru (Naruto): I was very impressed with this character, and it's really rare that I'm this fond of a villain, because they aren't usually this well done. He's not the typical angsty villain nor is he the cheesy monologuing type. He's smooth, he's smart, he's ruthlessly selfish, and he's a good actor. Love.
5. Gomamon (Digimon Adventure): Gomamon has always been my favorite Digimon. He's just adorable, and one of the few characters I actually enjoy seeing dubbed.
6. Haku (Naruto): I'm always a sucker for the characters with those gentle smiles and soothing voices. Fuji, Tohma, Quatre, and Haku.
7. Arc (Arc the Lad): Another gentle smile and soothing voice. And he's beautiful and strong and selfless and quietly mysterious and angsty without being broody.
8. Claude C. Kenni (Star Ocean EX): Another gentle smile and soothing voice. XD He's just a cutie pie. And a sweetheart <3
9. Tentomon (Digimon Adventure): Because he cracks me up.
10. Takaishi Takeru (Digimon Adventure/02): He's such a muffin! XD I tend to love the sweethearts of any series, and Takeru is the sweetheart of Digimon, but he's not without his intense side either, which makes him all the better.
11. Inoue Miyako (Digimon Adventure 02): a lot of people find Miyako annoying, which makes me sad. She's another character I love seeing dubbed. She's an absolute riot, and I love that she doesn't take crap from anyone.
12. Izumi Koushirou (Digimon Adventure/02): this is the character that I really fell in love with from the show itself. My love for him has dwindled since it's been so long since I watched the show and I don't ever RP him anymore, but he's a special character to me anyway.
13. Sakaki Ouka (Weiß Kreuz): Okay, she got on my nerves the first couple of times I watched the series. Maybe RPing her changed my perspective. Whatever happened, I have a lot of respect and fondness for her now and the role she played in Omi's life.
14. Precis F. Neumann (Star Ocean EX): Spunky, cute, inventive and sweet. Enough said.
15. Shikamaru (Naruto): the lazy genius. I love it XD
16. Sagara Sanosuke (Rurouni Kenshin): I don't usually go for the rough-housing wild rebel types, but Sano has rugged charm in its rawest form.
17. Iruka-sensei (Naruto): He's a lot like me in personality. I really like him for being so caring and gentle, and yet such a worrier at the same time. He reminds me of Oishi from Prince of Tennis.
18. Schuldig (Weiß Kreuz): The only other "bad guy" on my list. Why do I like him? He's very unique. He's not your typical villain either. He's got the telepathy which means hearing things whether he wants to or not, and he's got that aura that in many ways makes him seem like a playground bully trapped in a 22-year-old's body. But he's also got the intelligence and cunning of a fully grown man. He's deliciously manipulative and toys with people not out of some quest for revenge, but because it's fun. How many villains go out and be evil just for fun? It's always money or power or some grand motive. Schuldig just likes to entertain himself.
19. Temari (Naruto): because she absolutely kicks butt! <3 One of the coolest anime girls ever.
20. Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece): He makes me laugh one minute and aww the next.
21. Kamiya (Chinko no Tsubuyaki): I haven't been able to read much of this manga, but from what I have seen, Kamiya is my favorite. Hot-tempered and hedonistic but under his popularity, he's got low self-esteem and seems like a fragile guy.
22. Kaoru (Uninhabited Planet Survive): I never did finish this series XD I don't usually go for the silent angsters any more than I do the villains, but Kaoru's special. He was really cool, and I unfortunately can't define him better than that XD
23. Shindou Hikaru (Hikaru no Go): Because he's cute and I feel like, having characters / soulbonds / muses / guides / whatever I can relate to him oh so well XD "Ooh look at that! I like that. Buy me that. PLEEEEASE T___T Yayyyy!" Argh. (Yes, that would be Rasu I'm mocking.)
24. Tomoe Sakura (Weiß Kreuz): Lots of people don't like Sakura. I never saw much special about her until I found wk_het_yuri and read some essays on her. I came to respect her a lot more after that. She takes nearly as much crap from Schuldig as Omi and she doesn't break. The girl deserves some credit.
25. Manx (Weiß Kreuz): Manx appeals to me for being a very strong and professional woman that kicks ass but reserves a soft side for a select few. I'm especially drawn to the dynamic she has with Omi; she's the closest thing to a mother figure that he has.
