that was gorgeous. I love the pieces of almost dialogue that you've created. and that she grows up but is exactly the same girl. I love the way her POV means she has conversations with herself.

um... explain the apple?

oh, thank you. yes, yes, and yes.

(when lorelai had a pregnancy scare, um, in whatever season it was that aired in the u.s. last year? she thought she was pregnant because she suddenly had a craving for apples, and, apparently, she ate them all the time when she was pregnant with rory but normally dislikes them.)

Oh, oh, oh. Yes. I love that cut off "except." And the part where she's possibly a changeling. And the part where she wants to bring Luke but doesn't.

oh, thank you muchly. (such a relief that the cut off thing worked, and the tiny little luke line, yes.)

This is so beautifully written, and you captured Lorelai so well.

oh! I love how you've captured childhood, the simplicity and the heartbreak of it, but shot through with these shards of the Lorelai to come. the part about Rory is gorgeous, and how it picks up from earlier. and it's funny as hell -- totally Gilmores. Bowie and Spock and the Original Gangsta of Spoiled Rich Girls, indeed.
