The japanese anime magazine Animage has launched a poll about the favourite female & male characters, anime series and episodes. And here are the results:

The #5 in the Favorite Series is Gintama.

Have you watched Gintama? Would you recommend to watch it?

I really like Gintama. It's really dorky with silly characters (who can be a little crude sometimes.) It's pretty episodic, without long storylines, though, so if you like epic tales, then it might not be for you. Some of the episodes include, the world getting taken over by cockroaches, the main character getting forced to work in a drag bar, the world's weirdest pet contest and stuff like that. There's also a lot of references to other anime, mostly shounen (and a lot from the Weekly Jump).

And #6 for the female characters is spelled Kagura. She fights with an umbrella and likes to eat sukonbu. Hee hee!

OMG!! Forced into drag?! What sort of work? Did he get to dress drag? If so, I am so going to watch this..

actually there's one episode, I think its episode 50, where they did a Tarakaruza (I dunno what its called XD) ... errr theatre that mostly likely played by women by in this episode they played by men XD
