Never have much to say, these days. Other than the usual whining and grumbling about work.
So I'll talk about spring instead! Today I'm starting my seeds. I got two little grow kits--soil pellets in little pots with a seed packet. One is for zinnias, and one is for shasta daisies. They both require full sun, which I don't get, but last year a couple of zinnias bloomed in a pot with a flower mix that I sowed directly...so we'll see. They were cheap so it was worth a try. :3 Maybe I set up a lamp by my seeds this year and see if they grow better.
As soon as I take a trip to Home Depot, I'll start my other seeds. (First I need to buy some seed soil or more pellets.) I have another lettuce mix. I made myself throw out my old seeds, so I should have better luck with germination this year, only using brand new seeds. (Last year I tried to use leftover seeds from the previous season, and it didn't work out very well...) I also have a packet of Forget-Me-Nots, which I love. They say full sun too, but since they grow in the woods back home in Michigan, I'm feeling optimistic.
In about a month, I'll see how those guys are doing and buy some annuals for my big planter box! And soon I need to break out the new bird feeder I got during the off season sale and fill it up with thistle. It'll be way less messy and gross than the thistle sock, so I'll actually refill it this year. XD Which hopefully means gold finches! The sparrows and the chickadees have been ransacking my regular bird feeder for a month already. Greedy little guys.
In a couple of weeks, I'm taking a little vacation time (thank goodness) to visit Florida and my folks! Very excited, and hoping that my sister decided to come too...this year, it had better not rain. I would like more pool time. But before that, I'm going to have an early Easter (I'll be in FL on the real holiday) and attempt to make a roast duck. I've never really had duck before, so hopefully the effort won't be wasted on something it turns out I don't like...
That's all I can muster. I lead a boring life.
