My layout... :(

It seems that LJ has totally killed the old style layouts. I can still select it, but it won't save the colors anymore. I've picked out a new style layout with nice colors, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. I think it's a little too busy or cluttered. I'll just have to keep playing around with it until I find something I can get used to.

I'm still digging the peacock-themed site header, though. Gorgeous!

Been chilling by myself for the past couple of days--rare for a weekend. I've been semi-productive. Signed up for a few more craft classes. Sewing 101 and another jewelry class. I know how to sew in a basic sense, but I don't know anything about different stitches, or...or anything that has a name, really. And they help you with your own sewing machine, if you have one. So that'll be excellent. I also paid a visit to Burlington Coat Factory for the first time. Mixed feelings. First of all, there were no shorts to be found except in the athletic section. It's still August. It's still hot. :( And the alarm at the door kept going off every couple of minutes (and there were cops outside). Shady. But they had some cool jackets and stuff and I got this (fake) silk sleeveless blouse for pretty darn cheap. It's a gorgeous shade of blue-green and has a matching chain-and-pearl necklace. I don't know if I can pull it off, but it was too pretty to pass up. (They also had it in a pretty shade of purple, but I couldn't resist the green.)

I also got my sweet new straw fedora! I'm not sure how I feel about it yet, so the tag stays on. I think it might actually be a little small, which is shocking. I measured my head and everything! Some comments on the store website for this particular style did complain about the size being off, though, so it's not just me. I think I need a second opinion. I think it would look nice with a brown, green or maybe even a blue hat band. Right now it's a snappy black and white band--it looks nice hanging up, but a little comical on me. Argh.

I think it might be time to go do my plant-sitting duties at Jon's and take advantage of his pool.... >.> Yay!
