"I Ching;Progress: Progress is what happens when we stop making trouble for ourselves. Work, creativity, healing, and the endless journey into ourselves are all easy, unless somehow we fall into self-defeating patterns. The most satisfying kinds of progress are always the ones that we have chosen ourselves, expressing our creativity. The hands that work clay, or paper, or wood, or that drive a car, or that take care of a child while it is growing, are hands that create progress. Yet, we only make things happen when we are focused on the work we do now instead of the progress we are making from the past. Real progress happens when we forget where we are going, and remember what we are doing now. Our progress is not so much about how successful we are as it is about how much attention we give our lives, while we're actually living them."
This is from a description on a paper that held a necklace on it. My mom gave it to me recently, and I really liked what it said. I think it makes a lot of sense and it seems to apply to recent events in my life. I never thought about progress the way it is expressed above. The necklace is from the Tribal Pride Store at the Galleria Mall.
