Well.
I did have to get a new hard drive for my computer, and it turns out that data recovery? is really expensive. Like, $500-$1000. Yeah. So I dug around and found all my un-wiped USB drives, and managed to recover some stuff. Fortunantly, I did have (some) version of my SeniorResearchPaper on one of those drives, and some (not all) of my pictures, including the portfolio I had put together, and I spent yesterday loading software/more software/what I scrounged up onto the new computer.
Basically, what this boils down to is I have whatever pictures were on Facebook+ a few hundred that were on the 8gb. I did lose my carefully constructed list of music I've played, and all my music off my iTunes. But I have a working computer now, and she doesn't have a name.
After Erma died so spectatcularly, I don't really want to attach that name to the new(well, basically) computer.
At this point I'm just waiting for the third thing to break. You know, bad luck always comes in threes? Phone+Computer+...? I leave on Monday. I just hope it breaks before then.
erma,
hard drive collapse of 09,
