Even if this does nothing more than prove that digital comics can be profitable at the 99 cent price point (which, surely, is way less than Marvel or DC would attempt to charge through a similar model), it would be a huge first step.
Of course, the one thing that's still missing is a color version of something like the Kindle or the e-reader. Still, I'd be willing to read a small portion of my weekly pull list (especially the stuff I care about less than the rest of it) off of a computer monitor.
I'd feel pretty bad if local comic shops went the way of the dinosaur (especially the one that I have visited since I was 13), but the amount of money and space I would save is impossible to ignore.
