It seems my memory is worse than previously thought. Well done you on contingency, it would appear that sadly such coherency between chapters is lost on my shitty brain.

I am really pleased James is getting a chapter! You know I love his character too so it'll be nice to see what's going on in his head. No doubt he'll be a little 'wtf?'.

As for your criticism of your own work; you're such a perfectionist woman! Both a positive and a negative. Its a brilliant romance story! Remus's feelings as you rightly point out are relegated second because its primarily from Sirius's perspective. The way you've wrote a Scottish accent is bloody wonderful. Nae shit. I don't know anyone who doesn't come from there to have the ability to write slang. My own friggin partner who lived in Stirling (where we met) for three years canny do it for love nor money and he sure as hell canny sound Scottish. Seriously. Not even close.

As for ACOC I'm chuffed to see you're returning to it after the New Year but aye I guess from Third Year onward Sirius's relationship with Reg will start to disintegrate rapid style. It'll be really interesting to see how you work that one out because to be honest I have no idea in my own head how they both went their separate ways bar Sirius being in Gryffindor, Reg in Slytherin and him agreeing with his parents. The intricacies of what happened though my dear you'll no doubt work out :)

If I don't speak to you before then which is pretty unlikely as I have last minute shopping to do!...

I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy Hogmanay n New Year!!! Hae a wee dram own me hen *grins* xxx

I probably need to work on being less of a perfectionist. I spend so much time editing things I've already written that I could be spending writing new material. Of course, that's not going to stop me from completely redoing Survivor's Guilt (and probably Tropical Adventures, too). Of course, that's a million years away because I can't do that until after ACOC and my First War fic are finished. That's so much writing!

I think the thing that helped me the most with writing a Scottish accent phonetically was that I spent about ten years reading Diana Gabaldon's books, and she does a rather good job of it, herself. However it does mean I have a tendency toward slightly archaic vocabulary, since her characters are 18th century Scots.

I'm really pleased with how well Ch 10 is going. Sometimes the dialogue just flows, and that makes me very happy. James is giving Sirius a bit of the third degree and there's a whole lot of uncomfortableness, but I think there should be. They need to figure out what this means for their friendship.

Happy Christmas and Hogmanay to you as well!
