Drowning in Bunnies
I feel like the plot bunnies are breeding in my brain faster than I can even make notes on them. Not for short fics, either; some of them are fairly epic, and all are multi-chapter. Here's the list of fics I haven't even really got started on:
The Founders Chronicle - The tale of the founding of Hogwarts, from the birth of the four founders through the departure of Slytherin from the school. I wrote 24 pages of notes for this one ages ago, but no actual text. Since my favourite historical playground is Anglo-Saxon England, I plan to have lots of fun with this.
Secrets and Lies - The story of the Dumbledore family, and Albus's relationship with Gellert Grindelwald. I have a ton of notes for this one, but I haven't written more than 600 words of actual text.
A Conspiracy of Cartographers - In a way, some of this is aleary written. My stories contain a lot of Marauder flashbacks, but I haven't written much actually set during their time at Hogwarts. I'm planning to take what I have written, string it together, make sure the tenses all match up, and write some connecting chapters to tell the rest of their story.
What James Potter Never Knew - I don't think this is the final title, but this will be the story of Lily and Snape's romance at the end of their 5th year. Rather porny and with an unhappy ending (because, you know, that's canon).
The Secret N.E.W.T. - This one is essentially cross-gen porn, and was supposed to be a short story, but somehow I think it's going to end up being very long and involved.
Magpie Lewis and the Mirror of Ravenclaw - Maggie is going to be my wizard archaeologist, in the Indiana Jones tradition.
[Untitled R/S Fic] - The continuing story of Remus and Sirius, set during GoF and OotP.
The Art of Longing - This one will explain how and why Remus and Tonks got together, because I simply cannot accept the reasoning behind the failfest that is their relationship in the books.
Moonshadows - Post-war fic in which Ron, Hermione and Draco are all werewolf-tainted for various reasons (though none of them are true werewolves). Probably very dark.
Children of the Gods - A next generation fic that bunnied me the other day. I barely even have notes for this one yet, but the gist of it is that Harry's kids are totally f***ed up, and one of them is hoping to be the next Dark Lord.
[Untitled Marauderish Story] - This will be more or less original fiction, but my four main characters are going to somewhat resemble the Marauders, and their story will somewhat parallel what happened to them in the HP backstory (great friendship, great betrayal, mistaken identity, etc...), but instead of 20th century British wizards, they will be Knights Templar during the Crusades (my other favourite historical playground). I had notes for something similar set during the California gold rush, but realised I know very little about that period and region.
