With the fifth season finale of Supernatural looming, I have a bunch of thoughts and speculation to get out of my system.
My biggest worry is the news of a major character dying. My bets are on Adam, but he's hardly a major character unless you count him being (supposedly) possessed by Michael. Not gonna lie, I really like the kid, but I don't care if he's flung into the afterlife again so long as the Winchesters, Bobby, Crowley and Castiel are spared.
Speaking of Cas, if he ends up being the one to perish so they can "restart" the series I'm going to cry. This is not "hurp durp pretty angel hand!porn Dean/Cas OTP" fangirl talk. I genuinely love Castiel and his evolution from prick to doubtful prick to dealing with raw human emotions and pain, and how he's always learning from and adapting to new people and situations. For all his 2,000 years of wisdom and obedience, his abundance of awe, respect and curiosity of humans is a real tug at the heart. He needs more time to grow and understand and truly live. For Dean's sake, too. I doubt he's ever had a friend who's near and dear to him as Cas is, and that boy needs a goddamn break.
I don't know what to think about Sammy's plan to trap Lucifer. I want Kripke to save him from saying "yes" at the last minute while still sending Lu back to Hell, but who knows? Kripke's been throwing tons of curve balls over the course of S5 and it's foolish to get too optimistic. Dean's deal with Death has pretty much thrown a wrench into any hope of Sammy getting out alive, anyway. :(
...See, this show is exactly why I watch the feel-good, melodramatic and joyfully homosexual Glee. I need something to perk me up in the wake of SPN's despair!
