2007
so as i promised i am gonna give you and update on the past year. it has been one hell of a year and i cannot be happier that its over. some of the best things of my life happened and also some of the very worst. i just want to leave this year behind and never look back on it. heres a bit of a rundown of what went down...

so this ended up being by far the best new years eve ever. i spent it in philly with the people i love. dustin and corey came down from home and we partied in the edge. alison also had people over as did mark so there was an awesome crowd there. laura and rob showed up later too. but yeah it was a good night. some amazing drunkenness and lots of pong and andre and random making out things and like i said just an all around good night. so the first hour of the year was good. but then vince got sick. and i think thats where the year started going downhill. but all in all a good night.

my mom got a new car! it was a really big step for her. things hadnt been great but she was able to go out and get it herself. she made a good choice too! black 2007 subaru forester. so what if its a mom car, its pretty awesome!

i was driving back to philly for a basketball game and the cavalier finally kicked the bucket. on the turnpike. luckily i was able to get home. but the car was pretty much done for. so i had to survive without a car.

my great-grandmother passed away. she was really old and her health was deteriorating. but i think it was probably for the best. she went really peacefully and i think it was just her time. i really do miss her though.

my mom came to philly to pick me up for my great-grandmothers memorial service. we went for dinner and then she ended up having me drive home. so i drove home and she told me how the garage door opener was broken so we had to park in the driveway. then about an hour later my dad took me to the garage and what was there but a new car for me! a red 1995 ford taurus in amazing condition. another good highlight of the year.

21st birthday. amazing night! went to lucy's for awhile and then to the khyber. dont remember much of the khyber... the next night was amazing too. mcfaddens and finn's. 24 shots and 5 beers. good good times. this was probably the highlight of the year.

so i finally did the hardest thing in my life. i came out to the parents. and it was such a scary / liberating / emotional / crazy / tiring / etc situation. but i felt so much better afterwards. and as far as how it went? well my parents still pay my rent and stuff. so i guess not that badly?

started working at celebrations. i have met some amazing people there. but sometimes i cant stand being there. overall its good though.

ended my 3rd year of college. my grandmother had a stroke and lost a lot of her vision and broke her wrist. it was not a good situation and only a preview of things to come.

i started my job working summer bridge for the RCC and it was an awesome 6 weeks. it was a good way for me to keep busy and i loved the kids we worked with. it also set me up for a good job for the semester.

we moved into an awesome house off campus. me mark dube laura gina and margaret. 6 bedrooms 3 bathrooms. large basement with a pong table. its really awesome. we really have a lot of fun and im glad we all ended up here. also my last band camp ever (possibly) happened. it was a lot of fun but i knew that i was growing out of it. the director made things pretty difficult this year. i was not a fan. started my last year as an undergrad too.

my brother came to philly for the temple/penn state football game. we were out for dinner and my mom called my cell phone. my grandmother had had a heart attack and she was in the hospital. she was alright because it was caught early but it was still a heart attack. my mom wasnt able to make it to the football game because of that, but i was alright with that. my grandmother spent the whole next week resting up so she could come to philly for my last football game ever. but then...

during the night my grandmother had a massive stroke. my parents took her to the hospital the next morning when they found her but there was a lot of damage. her mind was just completely crazed and she had total paralysis of the left side. it was absolutely heartbreaking seeing her in that condition. she ended up going into a nursing home just after thanksgiving (which just so happened to be the worst thanksgiving ever)

another semester done, one to go. i stuck around in philly for awhile. it was good being down here and not having much responsibility.

my grandmother died. i dont even know what else to say. it was definitely the saddest moment of my life and i still dont even think i felt the full effect of it. she was an amazing woman and i still dont know what to do without her.

so the year ended a lot like it started. drunk in philly. this time at the house. a lot of the same people were there which was good. and some other nice additions were there too. all in all it was a decent new year.
so yeah thats the rundown of the year really. those are most of the big events that had a huge impact on things. but i was just hoping that the end of 2007 would bring the end of the shit. and i was wrong. absolutely wrong.
so nine days into this new year what happens? my moms car that she got right at the beginning of 07? well it was being inspected and someone broke into it, stole it, and totalled it. totalled it. that car she worked so hard for rolled multiple times and all the windows were smashed and the blood of the two fucking pieces of scum who stole it was splattered on the inside of the car. destroyed. its just one of those things that goes to show that things can always get worse.
so lets hope the rest of 08 doesnt suck?
