all things considered i guess my weekend home wasnt too bad.
the funeral was saturday morning and i was surprised to see so many people come out for it. it was also comforting to hear all of the nice things different people said about my great grandmother. all in all it was a decent ceremony. then we had the luncheon afterwards at marianaccis so of course that was amazing. i absolutely adore their food. all the meatballs i could eat there. me and my brother talked with the reverend during the lunch, and he was actually a pretty cool guy.
went to the penguins game on saturday night. they won thankfully. it was a decent game, kinda boring at first, but it picked up. and then i just went home afterwards. i was really really tired and ended up passing out around 1030.
thats about all from my weekend...
except for the amazing part!
so back to friday. my mom came to pick me up at school (since my car was at home in the shop) and we went to spaghetti warehouse for dinner. and then her leg was bothering her so she had me drive home. when we got home she said that the garage door opening had been acting up so she was just parking in the driveway instead of in the garage. ok whatever. so we were inside and then my dad got home and we were all talking and whatnot. then my dad starts walking toward the garage and says "we got your car fixed up and we took care of all the problems and we even did a little body work on it and its all shined up nice. it looks really good. you may not even recognize it." and he opens the garage door and its definitely not my car in there. apparently one of my moms coworkers was getting a new car and selling her old one. so my parents looked into it and it was a very nice car and a great deal. so now i am the proud new driver of a red '95 ford taurus! its only got 59,000 miles on it, and it has 4 doors and power locks and power windows and power driver deat and CUPHOLDERS, all of which i have never had before. and the lady who owned it before took extremely good care of it and always kept it in the garage, so this car is in perfect condition. its amazing. so my old car is no more!
anyway i drove back to philly on sunday, and it was great driving in a car that i knew wouldnt fall apart on the turnpike. i got to 76 and there was mad traffic but it ended up dissipating. got back to school in time for the basketball game which was fun. and thats about it for my weekend.
so regardless of the reason i had to go home, it turned out to be a half decent weekend.
now for some lunch.
