For the benefit of my friends who are NOT on Facebook who are wondering . . .
liannegizer and I are just fine. Our house is on higher ground. We came out unscathed; in fact, we didn't even lose power at all through the storm.
Others, however, haven't been as lucky. I heard that there was a mudslide that destroyed homes not far away, there are numerous roads that are closed, and I just heard something about one death locally (a woman was washed away near Albany, from what I heard).
We're safe. Am hoping that others are as well.
