Well looky here

I just read 30-some odd pages of Marketing (well, I started reading after the football game, took a break for DH, then finished up after that was done). Doesn't seem like a ton of work, and it really isn't, but marketing is so damn dry. I really don't give a rat's ass about logistics, and in all honesty, the only thing I'm gonna remember about this shit is how what's his face from Office Space was thinking about taking that chick to Tom's party from logistics and then showing her his O Face. So that's marketing in a nutshell to me. At least I got an easy class....don't do shit all quarter, study moderately for the midterm and final, pull an easy B to B+, and walk away a better man. I guess.

So quite a bit actually going on lately. Yeah, I'm just as surprised. I'll skip right to this weekend, since that was when anything happened. Thursday was poker night....won 80 bucks. Go me. Wasn't my best night, either. I felt like for the most part I played solidly, but I made a real bad call at one point, and it actually ended up being my most profitable hand of the night. I have like A 3 in the big blind, see the flop for free, flop comes A 10 7. So I'm sitting on top pair, but then this guy goes all in ahead of me. I'm sitting there really not wanting to throw away top pair, even with my lousy kicker. The guy even goes as far as to tell me he's holding 2 pair. I figure he's probably got like 10 7 or something like that, so I got some possibilities if I want to make some weird call. I had 3 spades at this point, so I could runner runner the nut flush (I was holding the ace), spike another ace, hit a 3, have the board runner runner pair, so in reality I had a bunch of outs....just a lot of work needed to be done to hit most of my outers. But I was stubborn and couldn't throw away my ace. Sure enough, guy turns over 10 7. Turn comes another spade. So now I had 8 spades, 2 aces, 3 3s. 13 outs going into the river isn't bad at all. Spade hits on the river. I runner runner my flush on him. So lucky me. But it was a really nice pot, so I felt bad for him for about 6 seconds.

Friday we went over to Marybeth and Co.'s place for Sammi's birthday party dealie. That was alright. Ended up pretty much just running around wearing these stupid birthday paper glasses and acting like a jackass. But that's what I do. Trent and Liam showed up (Trent's sister was along for the ride). So I talked to those people for awhile....had some catching up to do with them. Nothing else really spectacular happened there. Finch was doing some weird something or other that he was continually talking about doing but when we finally told him to stop talking and actually do he wouldn't do anything for like 56 hours....and even then it took way too much coaxing for him to show us whatever the hell he had to show us. If that even made sense. I forget what his little dealie was, but trust me, he talked about doing it for about 25 minutes literally and then wasted 6 seconds of my night in the end by actually doing it. Very disappointing.

Saturday was supposed to be 25 dollar all you can drink at Belly's (supposedly they had food too) from 9 to midnight. I say supposed to be because it turned into a disaster. So Marybeth and Val aren't 21, and Barbush wanted to make sure they actually got in the place, and so he and Mark took them up before us to make sure that we all didn't go there, pay 25 bucks, and find out that we couldn't all get in. So eventually they gave us the word they were in, so then the 8 of us that actually legally could get in the place got in a couple cabs and went up there, where we saw this huge line stretching like down the block from this stupid place. After we waited 45 minutes and moved 15 feet we said screw it and left. Ended up going to Parkway, which is this bar MUCH closer to school. Great place, too. When we got there, we actually tripled the population of the place. There were literally 4 people there, and 8 of us (or something like that). But that was cool. So we all grabbed a drink (even the guy at the door was cool and talked to us from time to time....you could learn a lesson from that, Goodbar). Had to make sure they had Guinness on tap, and did a little dance when I got the good news. So I got my coffee beer and situated myself over by Golden Tee for awhile. And then didn't do much the rest of the night. Had a few more beers, just kind of chilled with everyone. Then we went home.

Today was awesome as well. Hit up ESPN Zone with Blaz for football. Watched the Packers do their thing against the Redskins (including my weekly heart attack....I swear, Brett Favre could probably be enshrined as a God to hospitals all across Wisconsin). Got my ribs, which unfortunately were not as good as usual, but endless Cherry Pepsis helped. Plus just being at ESPN Zone is good enough for me. Stuck around for the first half of the late games. Met this one guy who was a huge Bronco fan, so I was talking to him for awhile, and I wanted to watch some of that game....get his opinion on Rueben Droughns. Who disappointed my mightily today. Now I have to bank on Chad Pennington getting less than 9 points tomorrow night or the 3 game winning streak is over for me. Whatever.

So that was nice and long. But I was overdue to write something, so here's more than something. I need sleep. Big day ahead of me tomorrow....at least if you count getting back my finance quiz a big day. Take it easy everybody.
