Hey there, everyone! How was your first day of 2007? Mine was fantastic-a great way to start off the New Year.
Unlike last year where I had this huge dedication to 2006 that I made in spite of all the excitement, and ironically the same time I was going to make an update this year (around three or four o’clock in the morning), I did not feel like going into all that mumbo jumbo. It’s practically implied by now: hello 2007, so it’s here, that’s it, you know?
I don’t mean to start it off with a negative connotation, because quite frankly, I am very content and satisfied with life right now. I always try and make it a point to be optimistic in everything, because those who mope and complain have failed to realize this great world we live in.
This morning when I looked out my window I saw blue sky, trees blowing in the wind, and the sun shining down and thought, “Whoa, God blessed us with a beautiful day to start off 2007.” That definitely brightened up my day, figuratively speaking and literally. The weather has an effect on my outlook on a particular day. Today’s was bright and cheerful.
I have played piano for so many hours today-almost five to be exact. I went to my piano teacher’s house from about one to five o’clock today and practiced my little heart out; I loved every second of it. I love how my classical study soon connects with my short attention span and I begin to improvise off of the style of the music I’m playing, or what’s playing in my mind at the moment. It’s quite fascinating.
2007 will unleash an unheard of amount of music from my soul. In the playing, composition, performance, and voice, music will propel my way through this year, for the good and the bad. If I’m destined to do music for the rest of my life, then so be it, because I’ve already fallen for it.
Anyway, there wasn’t much point of this entry. It’s a little random and there doesn’t seem to be a moral, but it’s my thoughts spewing out through these old laptop keys for anyone to read. Spiffy, huh? Well, I hope the New Year for all of you was incredible. Take care.
