Upcoming Dates / Photo Skills / In the House

Nov 07, 2005 23:01

So many things are going to be happening in the near-future. Apart from life changing so fast since my sophomore year started back in August 2005, even in the next three or four months lots more things will be happening.

[I may be adding dates to this as I go along, if I feel like it.]

November 16, 2005 - I turn 16 years old
[in between these dates there's a couple concerts and other events I want to go to]
November 19, 2005 - Holiday Parade in Discovery Bay Brentwood
December 25, 2005 - Christmas Day / ski season starts up
January 3, 2005 - back to school / start rehearsals for 2006 musical, "The Wiz"
February 8, 2006 - I can take the test to get my driver's license
[following these dates up until June 2006 is when I'll be getitng my braces off.]

This is just a rough look of how things will be happening. In typeface, it doesn't look that interesting, but to me, I'm thinking, "Whoa. Ski season is starting up soon, and this year will rock so much more than previous years. Then, I'll be able to get my driver's license, and soon after that my braces will be coming off." For ski season this year, I already have my skis, poles, boots, and most other equipment ready. I'll probably go up to the mountain a lot with Derek--he snowboards--so that will be pretty freaking awesome. I'll have to bring that up with him--it's going to be so cool.

I also had another idea: to expand my photography skills, I need to plan out some occasions to shot pictures, so they're not so random and unpredictable. The pictures that I want to take are lively, somewhat candid shots, ones in a convenient, yet scenic location. I love to see pictures that were taken in great sunlight, on a grassy field, with lots of humor in them. I'll try and do that, by the friends I work with can't be prude to taking pictures.

Another thing I was wanting to do is just a simple photo shoot, to see what kind of shots I can get. I'll even use the tripod and everything. I think the easiest way to do this is if I get a friend to be okay with it, and then I can go about doing it. I don't know, I just want to take more quality pictures instead of pathetic ones anyone could manage.

Speaking of pictures, seen my PICTURE POST yet? Not a lot of people have, so check them out! Your comments inspire me to continue making these picture posts, which is what I'd like to do. I appreciate all the comments I've received so far, so thanks everyone!

Lastly, In The House auditions are tomorrow. Honestly, I haven't prepared anything for my act. Maybe I could take Derek's suggestion and just walk right onto stage and wing it! That's probably what I'm going to end up doing anyway, heh. I'm going to perform something in Ab Major that I'll whip up, but other than that, it'll be low-pressure, because it's not finalized yet. I don't have much recollection from last year, because I only wrote an entry about the outcome. Oh--I also think it may be that all these entries get so much crammed into them that the subject can't solely depict the essence of the entire writing.

I just remember that Showcase last April was an inspirational time. So much happened, with my best friend, with real-life realizations, trivial times. Earlier in the month of April was such a hard time for me, since I was going through some emotional hardships. They were all made better, though, and it's just so awesome to reminisce on happy memories. I was nervous before the Spring 2005 Showcase of the Arts, but I got such good unconditional support that the result showed satisfactory. Doing acts like these for the Showcase also strengthened the friendship between Derek and myself. Knowing that I had achieved that kind of success with our act alongside my best friend is one of the best feelings.

Now that I can look back on a ton of things like those, I can relate them to current events nowadays. Sometimes when one goes into the state of memories, it's hard to grasp the reality of the present-day situations. I'm listening to the band New Found Glory, typing this up, knowing that tomorrow I have school, my auditions, practicing "The Debutante" with Derek, and a marching band practice. It's going to be a long day, but a great one nonetheless. I really shouldn't have any problem with things in this world if I just tackle life as it springs upon me. With the friends I have to support me I can't go wrong.
