Primarily, I'm updating because I heard "Hannah was bored," but also because today, the day after the wedding was just as fun as yesterday. I got to sleep in late (probably about 12:30 AM - 10:30 AM) and JUST made the last few minutes of the Continental breakfast. I had a huge array of foods but it was sure delicious. Around 1 PM my Aunt Lynn picked us up at the Mall Of America to go to my Aunt Carol's house to visit and have dinner. First, we did a little last minute shopping around the mall. I went back to PacSun, the Oakley outlet and places like that. I couldn't believe how expensive they were! At Oakley's, there were some jeans for $76.00! They were really nice, but jeez, heh.
After over an hour of driving to get to the suburb in which Carol lived, we finally arrived there around 4 PM. I talked to my relatives a whole ton throughout the night, which is something I really enjoyed. My cousin Mac showed up too--he's 25 years old--so we got to talk to him as well. The main thing Lynn and I talked about was my career choices; I have anything from architecture to music composition to photography. Carol made blueberry muffins and for dinner we had vegetables, chicken, and apple crisp for dessert.
All the while the eight of us (my mom, Uncle Bob, Aunt Carol, Aunt Lynn, cousin Mac, brothers (2), and myself) were visiting and catching up from the years. Carol brought out some photo albums from 1949!!! They were sure interesting to look at. Finally around 9:15 PM Mac told us that he was going to head back now, and since he was our ride we went at that time, too. (Bob and Lynn were staying at Carol's house tonight.) We all said goodbye and that we hoped to see each other soon, and finally headed out.
Throughout the whole car ride back I talked to Mac about music, colleges, and things like that. He's a really cool person, so it's a shame I don't get to see him more often. He's a giant, though: 6'4" and built like a football player with bright red hair. Later tonight I just watched some TV and relaxed.
As for the newly-weds, they flew to San Diego for their honeymoon today at noon and arrived safely. Ben and Marissa will sure have a great time there, no doubt. This wedding went off so well, and Lynn kept saying how thankful she was that I played during it. Funny as it is, she was having doubts as to if I would be appropriate for the wedding, because she had NEVER heard me play before. She said that she was gladly surprised, though, so it's all good.
Now, the trip's almost over, but it's been one I'm so glad I was a part of. Seeing Lynn, Carol, Bob, Marissa, and Mac is irreplaceable--once every five years doesn't cut it. I've talked to many people and realized lots of things and know that I want to figure out where to go next in life. Carol and Lynn have been telling me about my "Golden Birthday" coming up on November 16th and how it has to be a huge, festive party. I've got to make sure that goes well and that I make the most of it.
I'm going to be getting my license soon, my braces off, and a part-time job. Things are going so fast, and I need to make sure I balance my social life, school work, and my extra-curricular events with decency. When I get back to Brentwood I'm going to try and change a couple of things, for the better. As for now, I still have the majority of tomorrow before the flight. It'll be a little dreary getting back, though, because it'll be REALLY late and I have school Tuesday morning. That's the only real drawback, but other than that, although there was a lot of things for me in Brentwood this week, my place was here in Minnesota with my relatives for this joyous wedding event.
