I am inching closer to finish my AP Music Theory packet!
Ah yes; yes.
AT LAST! SWEET VICTORY IS MINE!
At the time now, which is 12:26 AM, after three whole hours of working on this insane packet, I have vowed to my goal and completed it! Using simple working strategies, small breaks, and pacing methods, I've figured it's easy to just sit down and do the work. I should use these routines and habits on my homework I'll probably be receiving in 9 hours. I listened to "Jesus Of Suburbia" by Green Day--and since that song's 9 minutes long, I averaged each page would take 3 minutes, and by doing so, I completed it, while listening to awesome music.
I must've listened to at least 75 songs tonight--I've listened to lots of music. Now I'm on my "Warped Tour Inspired" playlist, on "Konstantine" by Something Corporate--great song, it sure is. As for now, I am just so relieved!
I don't even think I have to turn in that work tomorrow, because it's an A-B schedule for my AP Music Theory class, so I don't think I attend Mrs. Stuart's class until Tuesday. Oh well! I would have had no time tomorrow anyway. The only disappointment about this is that I didn't make my 10:30 PM bedtime like I had set, because it's 12:33 AM right now. The most sleep I could get now is roughly 6 hours, which really sucks, considering I'll be away from home for about 15 hours tomorrow. Oh well, I tried.
Looks like some good entries on my friends page have been written in the past few hours. I should check on those when I get time. I was just thinking, "what if I were going to Heritage High School (the brand new one) tomorrow?" That would sure be something; I can just see it now: I'd get all ready for school, probably bike to school and get a nice 1-mile ride in (that's how close the school is), park my bike and lock it, view the ambience of a new, clean campus, and just love the realm of awesomeness I'm in. You'd probably be thinking, "well, if you're so jazzed up about that school, why don't you go there instead of Liberty?"
The answer is simple. This is Heritage's first year of being a high school. This is Liberty's 103rd year of being a high school. Although Liberty is a little old and rusty on some things, they have a lot of great clubs (choir club, Playmakers), and most importantly: an active performing arts program. Heritage will only have 9th & 10th graders, whereas Liberty will have 9th - 12th. That automatically means better band/choir programs. Heritage also doesn't offer AP Music Theory, which (besides Spanish 3) is my most anticipated class. If I was just a normal Joe, who wasn't into music, singing, dancing, or acting, I'd go to Heritage without a doubt. But seeing as I want to be in Jazz Band, progress in Music Theory, and see all the whereabouts of the choir program at Liberty, I'm staying there.
There's also other plusses of going to Liberty: my best friend is there, as well as many of my other friends. My other two best friends don't go to Liberty [one is going to Heritage and one has just graduated at age 15], but apart from them, I still know more people at Liberty than Heritage. As for class curriculum, I heard Mr. Ortega was the best Spanish teacher on the campus, and I got him for Spanish 3. That's going to be a class I'll really like. I'll have the same locker as I did last year (S209), which I was so grateful for, and the food at Liberty's pretty good. Not to mention the library is likeable, the gyms, the track, and computer lab. I'm not saying that Heritage doesn't have nice anything, just that I can already trust Liberty's.
I could go on and on about the pros and cons of things, as I'm an avid thought-provoker in that subject. Sadly, I still have to pack my backpack for tomorrow and tidy up my room. I'll manage, though, and I think the excitement of tomorrow being the first day of 10th grade (sophomore year) will allow me to wake up promptly at 6:30 AM let's make it 6:15 AM, so I have some extra "chipper-up" time.
Just a friendly warning, though: my schedule is extremely busy this week and next week. If I get some jet-lag on posting to your journal, don't feel offended--I usually read all my friends pages, just don't comment all the time, as usual. I'll catch up on weekends and stuff, and definitely at fall break (first two weeks of October--which is in 2 months, heh). Let's all keep up the team spirit and make things great around this area of LJ.
