Hi, I'm not new here but this is my first entry. Please forgive my poor english as this is not my mother language.
1. left handed pianist
I believe there are many other members of this community here who are left handed like me. My teacher said my right hand is kinda weak while the left one is too... harsh? too strong? something like that. I don't have much problem with controlling the left hand, but making the right hand stronger while producing smooth sound is kinda hard so I really want to know what do you do to make it better? I'm currently re-doing hanon and scales but I want to know other alternatives.
2. how strong does p and mf sounds?
I mean, I know what "piano" and "mezzoforte" means, but I got confuse on how light or loud should we produce the sound on the piano. I used to be taught that p sounds soft and we should lighten our touch on the piano while mf played like our general/ordinary touch when we play piano, no additional accent no extra power and not lightly either. But my current teacher said p sounds like our general/ordinary sounds while mf played just slightly louder than it, means even harder to produce the mf sound. So which one is the right one?
that's it!
thank you very much for reading this and answering the questions. have a great day! :)
