Vienna was a lovely city, but I don't think I'll be back until I've seen a lot of other European cities. Too many people smoke. Everyone has a dog. (To Eric: Though I didn't see any dog poop)
I spent most of my time learning a lot of linear algebra to be able to calculate the trace of a particle density matrix. I then spent the last few days coding like mad to make some snazzy C++ code combined with a cool perl script and a helpful shell script. I felt proud, partially because after my hand accident I didn't think I'd be able to program again. And I can. And I LOVED it. I was sort of obsessed with it. I am gone and now should be thinking about all the cool sites I'm to see but I keep thinking about how I want to improve my code.
I left Vienna on a rainy day. I think I over did it and got a little sick. So my time in Rome so far has involved a lot of sleeping. But that's okay. I want to take it easy.
I did get to see the Sistine Chapel yesterday and I'm headed to the Coliseum today. Tomorrow I fly to Paris. Then to Amsterdam (omg I'm excited about this place!). Then to London.
I've been so worn out when I get home that I don't email or call or talk to anyone. I just head to bed.
It is really hot here.
I've found a nice local pizza place where the lady keeps only charging me 5 € instead of 7 €.
I drank a lot of beer in Vienna. A little here. Still haven't tried the wine, perhaps today.
