Severus Snapes...
First of all... I like more of the Finnish form for his name [Severus Kalkaros]. It just tells how cold he is... Just the way the name sounds gives me chills. But the English form is more shrewd, if you know what I mean...
In the beginning, I just hated the guy. I hated him from the bottom of my heart, then I began to feel sorry for him as Harry saw parts from his past. He had to put up with the fights of his parents and was teased at school. Somehow I see that Harry's and Severus' childhoods have been familiar to each other, exception that Harry wasn't teased at Hogwards the way Severus was [but he had, before that...]
It was while reading Order of the Phoenix when I even began to think that Severus isn't all bad. But I was knocked back after The Half-Blood Prince. Things he did there didn't make sense with the deeds he had done before. I refuse to think that he is bad, I totally refuse! I can't believe that out of him, I can't believe that Dumbledore would've fallen for some stupid act. Dumbledore is excellent with judging people...
All in all, I find Severus now as a very, very interesting and attractive character. He isn't just good or bad. I really can't define him and that is his enchantment.
