Whoa!
Big news today for TMNT fans! According to Peter Laird's blog, a new movie has been confirmed and will be released sometime in 2011.
Exciting, huh? It looks like they're doing live action again, though the turtles will be CGI. I know a lot of people actually seem to like the idea of live action movies again, but I kinda liked the CGI myself. Oh well. As long as they don't bring back the suits... I didn't like those.
I hope they can use the good kind of CGI too. I'm thinking like, Spiderman stuff, as opposed to Scooby-Doo. (shudders)
Another kind of weird thing about it though... according to this, it's going to be more like an origin story. (pauses) I'm trying to figure out just how exactly they plan to do this. I mean, I know in just my last entry regarding the Nostalgia Critic's review, I agreed with the fact that for newcomers, you really had no background on the TMNT. But a whole movie about it?
Hmm... only thing I can see as making sense is if they do something like right from the comics. First encounters with the Foot and how they kill Shredder. And I have to admit- that would be sweet. Like, really, really cool.
So that's what I'm hoping for. (crosses fingers)
