Star Wars D6 --> D20

Jan 27, 2006 12:53

Does anyone have a good conversion methodology for converting D6 Star Wars RPG into D20 Star Wars RPG? I have the revised D20 book and I can't find the damn conversion rules in it.

Thanks all!

I haven't experimented with this, but it looks like http://conversions.swrpgnetwork.com/ has a lot of material...

Yeah, I was about to suggest the web too. A search on star wars d6 to d20 conversion brings up some stuff, but I don't know how much is OFFICIAL and how much is home-brewed. I am useless at tabletop!!! :)

There are no official conversion rules ever madeto change from d6 to d20.

Sorry!

Every review I read of the WOTC system said that the original has a conversion system in it, and I recall seeing it at one point; either in the book or on the web site. And the only one I can find online references pages from the original WOTC publication of the SW RPG book. But I don't see that in the revised book.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

There MIGHT have been some sorta cheesy conversion back in the first edition, but it was woefully incomplete.

MAKE SOME! ;p

I'm sure Gavin has them. He'd have them. I know him like that.

I think Gavin made d20 to d6 conversion rules, but not d6 to d20.

As for making them...
um...
not gonna happen. There never was a lot of interest in the SWRPG to begin with, and considering how tight-fisted they're getting about REPRINTING books, I doubt they want to put more R&D time into it.

Hrm.

The problem is that D20 might be so much easier to deal with characters that become even moderately more powerful than chargen and have to start rolling more than 5-6D in anything.

Of course, some of my players seem to find a sick glee in rolling massive quantities of dice.

The d20 version definately scaled up better at higher levels than the d6 version did.
