Favorite cookbook??

 I never make new year resolutions-rarely are they even remembered after January and the regular "lose weight, be healthy, save money..." blah blah blah that people always say seems silly ( Read more... )

My standards are the Joy of Cooking, an old (pre 1980 vintage) Pilsbury Cookbook and (if I could find one) a 1950s vintage Betty Crocker cookbook.

All have a large variety of dishes that are good, work well, and call for mostly "ingredients" rather than a commercial mix as a base for things.

Super plus is that the Betty Crocker and Joy of Cooking are in 3-ring binder format, so they don't close on you mid-stir.

Oh yea, I forget about the Joy of Cooking! I think Jen has that one-its super old but it would be fun to try some stuff out of. I do prefer my cookbooks with foods instead of mixes to...thanks!
