Linkslot time!

Jul 17, 2009 04:48

Hello people, I've finally accumilated enough links that I can do another linkslot! Some of these you will have seen before. Some of these I may have stolen from people on my flist here - if that is the case, please bear with me and don't kill me, please.
Anyway.

First off, the random book exchange site that started it all - to the best of my knowledge, that is. I found this when I found a Stephen King book on the train to Manchester - not that it was a very good book, but the premise is great.
Which leads me to The Toy Society - like BookCrossing, only with handmade toys, and for keeps. I still haven't made a toy for this one, but believe me, I will.

If I could make something like this, then i definitely would - unfortunately I haven't done felting yet.
Another totally badass toy, made better by the hilarious Engrish on the site.
Slightly less badass but still pretty funny, and you can make it yourself, for people who say they don't want you to get them anything.
Or, you could go to the other extreme and get them one of these.
Seriously, though, I'm getting my brother one of these this year. Because they're cool. I like the Fwoosh myself.

I don't actually think this is serious. I mean, HONESTLY. Who'd want one of those in their wallet?
And talking about bad ideas, this time with clothing patterns, this site has stopped updating now but the archives are a hoot.
The ideas here are not always bad, sometimes they're genius. Most of the time, though, they're bloody terrifying.
A lot of the things on here are not terribly good ideas either - what we're looking at, though, is the Ruben's Tube playing 'Still Alive'.
Speaking of musical sciencey stuff, musical Tesla coils make even the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy sound badass.

And another video - this is just so beautiful. All stop-motion animation. A work of art.
Which leads us to My first Dictionary. Which is not what it sounds like.
