Hey hey!
I am around and have been reading LJ. My resolution to post more this year has totally gone out the window. I have had a lot going on so that is my excuse. So here goes. I have a post with pictorial aids to illustrate.
So earlier this year my car caught on fire. My old, old Ford (old faithful) bit the dust. I was driving to a friend's house and saw smoke coming out of the car and thought it was overheating and pulled over. Luckily I was right at my destination and this did not happen on the freeway. I opened the hood and whoa, there were flames coming out of the engine. Panic and fear! And a really nice guy named Daniel in a U-Haul van pulled over to help me call 911 and all that. Fire Department comes and puts out the fire and totals my car.

So that left me without a car. I have some really nice friends who have an extra Subaru wagon and I was considering buying but that became problematic for too many reasons to mention here. They let me borrow their car while I was looking for a new car. So I searched and searched. I looked at dealers (bad), the local Buggy Barn (good) and Craigs List (scary but found one there!). Here is what I ended up getting - a 2008 VW Rabbit. I love this car!

So I am happy. My mechanic found two things wrong with it so I negotiated the price down based on the cost of the repairs but I am really happy with this car. It drives great and feels new. Love it.
That is my saga of the moment. Things are heating up at work - my busy season. Events and programs and I am helping a few people into retirement - lucky them!
I went to Tucson AZ recently and had a great time. I will post those pictures in another post. Really enjoyed the desert.
