So, is everyone in the states ready for Wednesday?
No, I'm not talking about "ZOMGWTFBBQribs, the VOTE!!!eleventythousand" on Tuesday -- that's a subject that's been beaten to death already. I'm talking about the day after which is when I fully expect to see all of the United States put under martial law.
"But 'Sophie," you may say, "isn't that a little extreme, even for you?"
To which I reply. "No, because no matter who wins the election (and I'm being generous by not bringing up the more-than-likely voting 'malfunction' scenario), half of this country will riot immediately followed by the other half fighting back. If you want to debate the viability of this scenario, even as a mere theoretical abstract, then you are in dire need of directing your attention to the study of history. The collapse of America's financial infrastructure will be nothing in comparison to the full-blown civil war looming on the horizon.
At this point it really doesn't matter who ends up in office as there's no way to possibly get anything under control in four year's time. Frankly, I wouldn't even bet on whomever getting elected making it through all four years with the pattern of history taken into account. [Note: I neither encourage nor condone acts of violence; I'm merely stating that bad things happen either with ot without human involvement.]
All told, things are going to get a LOT worse before they can possibly begin to get better and even then I'm skeptical of things going "back to the way they were."
There's a long road ahead of all of us. I hope we're ready for it.
