RIP Michael Jackson
So at work last night my colleague recieved a text message saying "Michael Jackson is dead." This was at about 10:45pm. We checked on the internet to find that it was unconfirmed reports.
However later on in the evening, it was fully confirmed, he is dead.
I'm not sure how I feel about the whole thing to be honest. Death is an inevitable thing and can't be avoided. Michael Jackson was only 50 years old but he did have a few health issues... I think some people are over reacting slightly, then obviously you have the people making jokes. :P
He was an inspiring influential music artist and he's had an impact on millions of people's lives. Even if it was just bringing a good tune to their ears.
I respected him as an artist despite the controversy and weirdness about it. His music was around in my childhood and I used to dance to him as a child.
I hope his family and children can be left alone during this difficult time. This whole thing is so publicly huge, I just hope they are left to mourn in peace. Losing someone close to you is a fucking awful feeling. I hope people respect that.
