The basement under a house is where all the things are kept that don't have room in the house. And the attic is also used for this purpose. There is a lining of insulation to keep the cold out. There is drywall over the insulation. People walk in front of the house. A wooden cart lays out front on the lawn. Globs of dried tomato guts are smeared on the dried surface. Innards that were squeezed out last summer, and were blown cold and frozen then melted and bloated over the year. The playground behind the house is a graveyard. The ghosts aren't aware of anything. A breeze blows through the attic, and the shutters flutter. The basement sighs.
