Arabesques of smoke slowly escaped from a pair of full, slightly parted lips.
A pair of dark, empty eyes glued to an equally empty, white wall.
“Why does it always have to end like this?”
A simple question dropped on the total silence like a bomb.
His head turned, but only slightly, in order to avoid the sight of the crumpled, messed sheets, of her cold, calm, yet unexplainably accusing gaze.
The next moment he sat up from the edge of the bed and headed towards the first door his eyes had fallen upon, trying to escape from that golden cage which always ended up transforming into an iron one. A dangerous, yet appetizing trap which he wasn’t simply able to ignore.
He never answered that question.
