art school

so i was rethinking art school. one of the recommendations for choosing a school is to look at the school's portfolio of student work and see if it's what you want to be producing (as it is likely that they teach you to produce work like that). so i looked at temple's - where i wanted to go. here's what i found:

under their painting/drawing major: i've done better work than some of their grad students. i've done as good as or better than some of their undergrad. there was ONE fucking picture that was better than anything i've done.

under their photography major (which is what i'd go for b4 painting/drawing): there were 2 photos i've never done anything similar, but it's because it involves projecting a slide image onto something else. i've just never done that. the other pictures i've done similar or better works.

moral of the story? well, why waste thousands of dollars and countless hours in a classroom to do the same shit i'm doing now? obviously if one of the top art schools in the area is producing students w/ the same talents/abilities as i possess then i've got what it takes to succeed.

fuck school. at least for now. :)

some i need to rescan at a higher resolution, but you can get the idea.
