Leftist Anti-Semitism: A Quickie

David Rosen, professor of anthropology and law at Farleigh Dickinson University, makes an interesting point while discussing Leftist anti-Semitism during another FrontPage Magazine symposium on the topic.

The central meaning of Anti-Semitism is hatred and discrimination against Jews. It developed as a cultural, social and political force in ( Read more... )

Which I have always had a hard time understanding-the weirdo racist/anti-Semitic Christians who hate Jews because they killed Christ ... well ... like, Christ WAS A JEW also.

P.S. Everything returning to normal now?

Hey there. Yeah, things are more normal now, although during the next few days I'll be supervising the move of all my shit to my new place. That and work will combine to create havoc, but whateva. I squeezed these two out because I really needed to; hopefully I'll have time for more.

How've you been?

Moving sucks shit, I helped my friend move this past weekend. It's the worst.

So wait ... like .... why do fundie Christians dislike Jews but love JC? I seriously don't understand it.

I'm good. I'm going to Cali for a week on Friday ... sun, girls, and a huge show on Halloween (Throwdown, Bleeding Through, and Eighteen Visions).

Oh wow, you're asking me to explain the psychology of the oldest version of the oldest hatred. I honestly don't get it either. I guess they feel that JC is a Jew who was redeemed, by their lights. Therefore, he's no longer a Jew in any meaningful, modern sense. He's a Jew who inhabits the ancient and sacred Biblical narrative of salvation, which for religious anti-Semites is a totally different thing from the modern, recalcitrant Jew who continues to deny the revealed truth. Jews are a necessary prop in the narrative of salvation. Hence, as long as they stick to the text, they are ok ( ... )

They sound pretty good, although I will opine honestly -- out of respect for all the work you put into introducing me to elements of hardcore -- that while I have heard some impressive musicianship in the bands you've pointed me to (mainly the drummers), nothing so far besides Hatebreed has compared to Throwdown.

Yeah, that's pretty much where I'm at. I joke about the Integrity song, but that's pretty much the boilerplate of what I like in hardcore. Just ball-smashing groove and brutality.

The first of the two songs playing on the Bleeding Through site at first sounded a little like the second half of Far Beyond Driven.
