Plus to get a mention alongside the Great Librarian is truly an Honour.
Just encountered a new etiquette dilemma. If I was trying to write bits to my friend in Italian I would obviously try to spell words correctly. However, as I went to school for enough years in the US - you should see my messed up cursive writing as proof, I know how to spell according to the vagaries of the US and English dictionaries - for example should I apologize for how I spell color or should I apologise for how I spell colour? Still don't know which is my favourite spelling preference or is it favorite!
Lol, probably not too much longer no. Slowly but surely you'd rise far up there. ;)
I don't think that variation of spelling matters much to me. Color, colour--I've seen that written out both ways several times. Either version I undestand what it means--and I spell it as color.
I've always been a very good speller, for about as far back as I can remember.
You reminded me of something of the way English say certain words differently from Americans.
To name 2 examples...
American pronounciation of aluminum: ah-loo-min-um English pronounciation: ah-loo-mih-nee-um
American pronounciation of February: Feb-u-air-ee English ponounciation: Feb-yur-ee
IDK I've found it interesting before. Especially when I attempted an audition for an English murder-mystery comedy play called "The Murder Room". :)
You are most gracious and tolerant, and this may become the subject of wider question. I spelled color as color for years, as that it now I first really starting learning in any real gusto. Yet I moved back to the UK and revert to the Queen' variation. It took me ages to switch from 'ize to 'ise. I guess the question is when do you reach the point when you should switch variations, what circumstance. We will see what other people see or care.
More about Rosie: We used to get along fine and had some fun writing out these story scenes together in writing roleplay with others at this RP game I had going on.
Then after the online pal I still miss a lot (Crystal) had to go offline due to a family crisis, I for one couldn't keep up with this game anymore. Crystal and I were like the core-plotters for a lot of this, and it just wasn't the same without her. :( I still pray to hear back from her someday!
Rosie soon after started giving me crap one day on how I write out my fandom characters--calling me a Mary Sue when I really wasn't. It never stopped there. Then when I first began the LJ communities i_wanna_rp_now and i_wanna_rpscene, she was acting out, deliberately upsetting one of my other friends and she wouldn't remove the story post that deliberately offended her
( ... )
HA, so that means I'm actually #1 for most comments. Well I do my best to comment to those I watch. I can't believe this meme is still around. I don't like that it lists EVERYONE even if they aren't on your friends list anymore. I edited the html last time I did this. And you allow non-members to comment? That's not good and shouldn't even count because it lumps them as one when it may not even be the same person.
I think you know why I have this name. Thagirion is the name of my demon character and name of the universe I have created for my story.
LOL I guess you are, for currently active LJ members! XD I know you do, and I do my best to keep track of what you're up to.
This was so long ago, way before we became buddies when I didn't mind anonymous commenters--until Drama Queen Brat decided to make good use out of it to try and start a flame war with me. *eye roll* I knew it was her and I was annoyed, so I stopped annonymous commenting permanently I banned her from my journal and the one community set I run that's probably very dusty by now.
Yep, I know very well on what your account name means. :) And your characters are awesome.
