I majorly scored. In my history of mall shop scoring, I think this might be the mother of them all!
Went to the St. Charlestown Plaza Mall in Waldorf MD and stopped by one of the game stores first. Got a second PS2 controller so whoever wants to game on with me won't have any weird problems with the PS1 I have. I'm keeping that just in case though, for my PS1 gaming. I got 3 PS2 games I finally decided to check out.
I'm a BIG fan of Jet Li, so I got Rise to Honor. I just tried it out. I think I like--might have to get used to the fighting controls. Although I'm progressing in it smoothly just the same. Action packed game, to which is no big surprise.
The other two I got are God of War (I've heard such great things about it) and Ultimate Spider-Man in which I know looks good thanks to G4...
At the Suncoast video store, I found some of the anime I was really, really looking for. I have the complete box set of Black Cat and volumes 3-6 of Darker Than BLACK! If the first two of DTB were there, I would have gotten two more complete series for my whole collection.
The FYE is closing over there and when my mom and I stopped by, everything was 60-70% off. I searched thoroughly to find the Dead By Sunrise album, but did not see it. I'll just continue to keep a lookout for it then!
However, I got some other cool CDs; Bush's "Razorblade Suitcase", Blue Oyster Cult's "Fire of Unknown Origin", and Incubus's new Greatest Hits record. The Bush one I have listened to some of and enjoyed while removing plastic coverings and price tag stickers. Really good so far... I've yet to blast it on my headphones to test out for further awesomeness. X3
Oh and I have the Deluxe Edition of Daughtry's first album. That means music videos and live versions of some of the songs. AND bonus tracks. A week or so before I almost picked up their newest album, but I already had three other CDs I wanted to buy. Still lovin' the Transformers soundtrack.
Found the first InuYasha volume on DVD, volumes 1 and 3 of Gundam Seed Destiny... Lotsa anime! Awesome anime. Sometime soon I'll update my collection list. Consider Black Cat as my 6th complete anime for it. :D
I found a sweet deal on the first complete season of the Dead Zone show (to which USA Channel canceled, boooo). Also, there was this really interesting looking documentary about a film crew following migrations of birds all around the world. I just couldn't let myself pass up on that one! Wings of Migration I think it's called, and I've never heard of it until today. Did you know that this film was a 2002 Academy Award Nominee for Best Documentary?
Mom got some things too, like Monty Python on DVD ("I'm a Lumberjack and I'm okay! I sleep all night. I work all day!"), Airplane on DVD (classic), and the Jeff Dunham Christmas Special, to which I'm only seen part of on TV twice. Dunham is funny as hell.
Then, before heading home, Mom and I stopped by this thrift store to get some books for my bookstore. I cherry picked some nice paperbacks and hardbacks. There's this one kid's hardback that I got that features a Chinese version of the Little Red Riding Hood story in it, along with other stuff that makes me wish I could have owned it as a kid. Couldn't resist getting that one.
Score for me and my store. I can only hope some people will come by and understand the bargain prices and help I provide by Wednesday or Thursday.
I saved to almost $800 for a mattress, and it turned out I only had to spend $212 out of my $400 limit. I didn't even spend much more than maybe somewhat over $100. To the point; I am not broke.
Nope, didn't have the time to go to Borders, but there's always next time to look for the TRON graphic novel! Spring? Summer? Usually I get to go to Waldorf once or twice a year. The rest of the time, my family and I are busy with work and bill paying and stuff we have to do.
