So I've been MIA since Monday. Hopefully Dennis told most of you what happened. If not, here it is:
Monday morning, around 4am, I was awaken from my slumber by horrible heartburn. I've had it that bad once before, but tums made everything all better that first time. This time tums didn't work. I called Brian and he wanted to call an ambulance because he thought there might be something wrong with my gallbladder. I refused and just tried to go back to sleep. About an hour and a half later the pain turned from heartburn to just an all over burning pain in my abdomen. I tried to wait it out but it just got too bad. At around 7am I woke my brother up and told him what was happening. He brought me to North Shore on 102nd St. Turns out I had stones in my gallbladder, the same thing my mom had which freaked me out. They said it wasn't infected or anything but the surgeon wanted to take out the gallbladder so this wouldn't happen again. They did it with a scope, like what Katie had for her knee. So I have 4 small holes on my stomach. They saved my stones. My mom's friend took them home for me but I haven't seen her so I haven't seen what the stones look like.
The surgery went well but waking from the anesthesia was another story. I heard nurses talking about how I had trouble coming to and it took me a while to start breathing again. But they gave me morphine for the pain so it was all good after that. I stay in the hospital another night just to make sure there weren't any problems. My brother picked me up yesterday at 4:30pm and I've been laying around ever since. My comfortable couches are just too comfortable and are too hard to get out of. It hurts when I move and when I have to use my stomach muscles it hurts more. I feel much better today though.
