Tuberville is to blame since he's the coach, but I agree that he's earned a down year without getting fired. Where else will we find someone to win 8.4 games a year? And if we end up with 10 years of Tuberville with only 1 or 2 losing seasons... I think that's a good sign, not a reason to be fired. Right now people are just overreacting and being emotional. I'd need another season or two of this level of awful before I decided Tubby isn't the guy.
For comparison look at Rich Rod at Michigan. Or Saban last year. New coaches implementing a new system get a long leash to work things out and lose some games. Saban improved a bit over last year. Who knows about Rich Rod, but you have to believe better things are on the way for them. Tubby is also implementing a new system, but he's not "new" so he's expected to never stop winning. I think it would be a big mistake to fire him now, and I'd say the odds of it happening are very slim.
