Dahab

The last few days have been great if somewhat hectic.
Finished work early Tuesday afternoon to travel up to Dahab. The drive itself is very pretty as you drive through the mountains for about 80km, unfortunately I didn't take any pictures on the way up due to laziness & the fact that not much has changed in the last 2 years. Found the dive centre quite easily & shortly afterwards some of the guys I was meeting started to return from their dives. Had a few 'social' beers at the dive centre before heading back to the hotel for a short chill out (aka a beer on the beach staring out to sea). Met up with the rest of the guys in the hotel bar before heading back into town for a few drinks & dinner, afterall a few of us had planned an early morning dive on the blue hole. Unfortunately rum was served & dinner was forgotten about apart from a few token plates of chips late on in the evening.
Needless to say the planned early morning dive didn't happen, in all honesty, morning didn't exactly happen either. Wandered back towards the dive centre around 1:30 to see what dives were happening that afternoon, contemplated some of the options available to us & then decided to take the lazy option & dive off the beach in front of the dive centre. Getting in was interesting as the waves were a lot bigger than I'm used to dealing with & was struggling to stay upright long enough to put my fins on. The dive itself was very pleasant as I spent the time looking in the seagrass for little critters. This also meant I went a bit deeper for longer than originally planned so I decided to stick around in Dahab for a few more hours (driving though mountains/altitude too soon after diving is not a good idea)
As with all good plans, a few hours involved chilling out at the dive centre, followed by a siesta, dinner & then watching the Middlesborough footy match. After which I couldn't be arsed with the taxi ride back to Sharm so stayed in Dahab another night.
This meant I had to be up at stupid o'clock yesterday morning, managing to arrive home about 5mins before the bus came to pick me up for work (prefect timing if you ask me)
Went out for dinner last night for one of the guys at works birthday so any intention I had of having an early night were promptly thrown out the window. After dinner I went to my neighbours for a beer, was attacked by the cute kitties on the way back into my apartment block so I had to stop for a cuddle, all this resulted in me getting in about 1am.
Considering the severe lack of sleep I've had over the last few days, I'm remarkably awake although I should probably think about sleep soon as I'm teaching in the morning.
Having never taught the adult courses fully before I was hoping for a small group for my first time, instead they've given me one with 6 people on it (max ratio is 8), might not sound a lot but it's a struggle to get the course done in 2 days so me thinks it's going to be an interesting couple of days, best go read the manual to work out what I'm doing.
*Wish me luck*
