Scuba diving is definitely one of those things I've always meant to get involved in, having done snorkeling as a kid a lot. But it always gets filed uner "maybe some day". )-8
The ones from my most recent trip are taken with a Sony Cybershot P100 with the relevant housing & a red filter that adds some of the lost colour back.
I like the results. Interesting to hear about the red filter - is that so as to get a little bit of infrared in the image as well? (I've heard that oceanic life has extra detail in that range) Or is it just because there's an overriding blue cast normally?
The filter's used to restore the red colour to things. Red's the first colour to disappear underwater due to it's weaker wavelengths. As for the anemone being luminous in the fist picture - try this one of a red anemone
