Year-In-Review Meme

Courtesy of shugahkitty. Seems like something interesting to do during the half hour in which I woke up before my alarm. I could be updating my bankbook, but this is way more fun.

The year-in-review meme.

The rule: Post the first sentence of the first post for each month. No memes, just what you wrote.

January:
From this press release:

"We know this is extremely hard on our students."

February:
Received this in my inbox today:

Dear Simon,
In response to requests from students for greater flexibility in the way that courses may be completed following the strike, and during the current economic instability, the University is offering students the ability to drop Fall term and Full Year courses and transfer their tuition fees paid to the 2009/2010 academic year.

March:
I'm at the point where I want to be able to simply wake up, work for eight hours, and come home to do whatever I want for the rest of the day.

April:
One of the reasons Katie and I weren't working is because I'm stuck, and the fact that I'm not doing anything about it was wearing down on her.

May:
But first, an anecdote that amuses me, at least:

Katie: It's not awesome. But you'll love it.

June:
While at work last night, my quaint, dim-witted co-worker Michelle and I spotted two figures in white hoodies hanging around the Sonitrol trucks that are always parked in front of our office.

July:
Is late, I know.

August:
I haven't been keeping up with my weekly check-ins recently.

September:
After the secondary hard drive bombed on me so many times, I guess it was only a matter of time before my primary hard drive started taking a dive for the worst.

October:
Still stuck on my Coheed and Cambria bender.

November:
Apparently, I made no posts during November this year.

December:
...and the first new thing I post is a meme.

I'm glad Coheed and Cambria made it into this meme somehow. I feel like they've been such a huge part of my year. I've sort of been thinking about doing some sort of full-fledged year-in-review thingy, but I haven't quite yet figured out how to go about it. Rest assured, however, that I will have more than a few words to say about how this music has affected me.

One of the Christmas gifts I received for which I am most excited is the Moody Blues album, "Every Good Boy Deserves Favour." Moody Blues was one of Mom's favourite bands growing up, and she's said more than once before that she's found hints of their sound in a lot of the stuff I listen to. I just think it's awesome I'm getting a sincere musical recommendation from my mother.

Christmas this year has been kind of scatterbrained, all-over-the-place. It's been a good one, but it definitely wasn't the same.

Anyhow. My alarm went off about ten minutes ago. I need to shower now. Gotta leave for work in less than an hour.

(Sekrit Message for Matt: I still can't believe you don't care much for "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3." Granted, it's no "Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV," but it's so good.)
