i have no idea what i wrote before, because i forgot to look before i opened this link, and i am too lazy to go back and check it now, lol :))
today was YET ANOTHER upper gi (esophageal) series in the ongoing saga (sueanne calls it an epic, lol) of The Surgery. i am tired of being required to ingest vileness in the interest of finding out what the fuck is wrong and what can we do about it. at this point, The Surgery is on indefinite hold; if i DO have acalasia(sp?), no surgery, too risky. if i have other esophageal blockage or malfunction, same. manometry showed nothing really conclusive except a supposition that i do NOT have acalasia; my lower esophageal sphincter (LES) apparently works fine. WTF??? surgeon got friends to look, and now i have to go to ANOTHER (-yet- another) doc, who ordered the test today and will later do an endoscopy, after reviewing these results. please excuse the screaming you're hearing; it's just me. we are now more than one year into The Surgery quest. i have been discouraged since about march when they said "uh oh, acalasia?!? no surgery for YOU!!" and have pretty much given up hope at this point; i've lost 52#, but co-operating with these tests has really just become a way/reason for me to get the fuck out of the house and breathe outdoor air for a couple of hours, lol...my only real interest in them is academic. ;)) i haven't completely fallen off the wagon yet; just letting my feet drag in the dirt behind, a little, lol.
in other news, my nephew is G-R-O-W-I-N-G!! as he should be, lol ;)) he has a few reflux issues, but minor ones, and he's gone from being skinny, fragile newborn to plump, tough infant!! he "found" his thumb yesterday, and it's hilarious watching him practice getting it into his mouth; when he misses, he gets frustrated so he balls his little fists up (as babies will, LOL) which makes his thumb inaccessible, and just round and round, LOL!! so we help him out when he gets stuck like that, and he just goes to town!! when i was little, i had a great-uncle who told me i had small thumbs because i sucked them when i was a baby, LOL ;)) Kadyn really is a cutie, and we all love him so much...if only we didn't have to deal with his parents to get to hold/feed/play with him, lol!! Nyna uses time with the baby as a weapon to get what she wants, or to not have to do what she -doesn't- want, and it's so maddening. the alternative is that they move out NOW, but we'd never get to see the baby at all! so...catch-22.
that's about all for now...i don't often have a lot to say that's nice, so i follow the old adage ;)) i've sort of moved into facebook; i spend WAY TOO MUCH time there, LOL!! if you're interested, search for my email address: phreec@yahoo.com . you could look me up by name (christi adams) but apparently there are several of me, so emails the fasted search, lol :))
missing people, and hoping they're doing at least okay!! someone say hi once in a while :))
XOXO
