As for your quest, I believe I can understand where you may be at. I spent a great deal of my youth studying a number of the major religions of our world, in addition to practicing first my birth religion of my family and then that of my choice. My passage through these adventures remain profound to me and I draw upon the great wealth of those experiences in my writing endeavors, but I will not bore you with those details here. What I did discover is that I saw religion help many people and do many wondrous things. I also saw it destroy families and communities. What I found out about myself is that I have no taste for the governings imposed by mankind through religions, but that I am a deeply spiritual person and my relationship with the universe, God if you will, is a very powerful and personal thing, to me.
As a result, I love to talk about such things with open-minded individuals. I try not to judge and to remain receptive to others ideas and opinions. I have learned that nobody is completely right or completely wrong, except for themselves and where they are at in life, and nothing on this planet will ever have all the answers! Or so I have come to believe... I enjoy such discourse and trying on different roles during debate. You know, seeing where the ball bounces and what we can learn about ourselves, each other, and this world we live on!
So, if you ever want to 'chew the fat' and have a few laughs while hopefully learning something worthwhile about this thing called 'our life's journey', give a holler! I'm game! Meantime, bright blessings to you and your family. Hang tough, for as long as you breath, there is hope! Or so I believe...
