NASCO & stuff....
Here I am in the lovely Ann Arbor, Michigan with Alice, Ada, and Fallon. We came out from MA after I got out of security at 2am on Thursday (technically Friday I guess). It was about 15 hours on the road, including the stop for lunch @ Applebees. We drove thru 5 states, 2 of which I've never been too before. The University of Michigan campus is fuckin' beautiful; Big Ten schools apparently have more money than they know what to do with. Anyways, the dirty hippie conference is going well. Learning lots of stuff about communism (not necessarily in the political sense) and cooperatives/collectives. And bonding with kids from Efoods is always great. Being girls, naturally we spend most of our time discussing boys and/or sex. Ada was making bets on whether I could get laid last night (sadly I failed...I don't think I was drunk enough, despite the bottle of white zin and the 5 or 6 local MI brews I drank). But I've met lots of fun people here and hopefully I'll get a chance to travel to other places and see their co-ops sometime in the future. Also, apparently there's a cooperative massage practice in Seattle that I want to find out more about because it apparently combines everything I love in life, and I've always wanted to try out living in Seattle. Plus, someday I want to open a cooperative massage therapy place, so it would be awesome to see how it works.
Ok, well, the next course block starts in 5 minutes, so I guess I better stop using the random computer I found in the UMich student Union and figure out where "Bringing it Back: Educational Tools for Reteaching What You've Learned" is at. And Fallon, I should probably figure out where she is. We'll be heading back to the great state of MA today after things wrap up here around 4 or 5, so we should be back sometime early tomorrow morning. Good times!! Now I just have to study for 2 accounting exams and prepare for 2 job interviews. I love my life!
