21st_medici reminded me that I never talked about my new LJ icon. It's a detail from the cover of the 2008 summer program of the National Chiang Kai-shek Cultural Center. Taiwan design and I are beginning to grow into each other.
The boy (and the little bunny, I suppose) are characters in a show that went up in June called "The Magic Fairy Tale Box." From the liner notes:
In addition to the expressive music, the story told by the Eyuan Puppet Theatre is also fabulous. The Magic Fairy Tale Box is opened by a naughty little boy Xiao-bao, who is jealous of his newly born sister and secretly opens his grandpa's mysterious suitcase while other family members are away. Nevertheless, to his surprise, when the magical suitcase is opened, the old puppets inside are all set free and come to life again. What's worse, these puppets seem to lose their minds and behave incredibly strangely. All that Xiao-bao can do is strive to get the control of the bizarre situation, and his adventure thus begins. With the harmonious melody, the imagination-provoking tale will not only lead you into a fancy world, but also touch on Taiwan's parent-child relationship in a humorous manner.
OMG, the cuteness just envelopes, infuses. Can you feel it?
