Twentysomething

Continuing my discussion of my current read:

Why do I feel alone sometimes?
I think every twentysomething ask this. Especially in college, I wasnt a partier and about senior year I finally figured out that if you keep turning offers to go out down they stop asking. Even as a married person, I am often feel lonely since I dont know many people and when we do go out its usually just him and I. As the book mentions, one person cannot meet all your relational needs. Once out of college its just harder to meet people to form relationships with. When I worked at Huntingtion it was several months before I really got to know my coworkers, ands several more before we started hanging out, outside of work. Best quote so far: "Relationships are not luxeries -- they are necessities"

The book actually does have a section about after you tie the knot. Gold Nuggets of wisdom: After the honeymoon, life gets complicated. Marriage is hard work and it is full of compromises.

So, we are not alone, lots of people deal with the transition. My biggest transition is how to spend time together, when he would rather just relax and play a video game.
