Weihnachtsmarkt Weekend

This weekend I finally got Patrick to take me to the Trier Christmas market and it was as good as I remember except since it was Sat it was packed. We had to parked in a different garage than planned and had fun trying to find a spot there. I was glad actually know where we were and made our way towards the market and did the sightseeingon the way. We spent more on food than goods at the actual market. Most of the ornaments I liked were similar to ones I owned or were too big or too expensive for our tree. We also went to two local department stores and I finally got a tablecloth for my Ikea table. We got one that was too big since we couldnt remember the table measurements but it looks ok. I also got some inexpensive German Christmas cards and soem marked down ornaments. We have already sent out American Christmas cards to our grandparents and decided to send e-cards to everyone else next week. But if you want a real German Christmas Card let me know and I will send you one. They are the same mixed box ones I mailed out a few years ago.

Then on Sunday we went to the Kaiserslautern Christmas market with one of Pat's coworkers and one of his German friends who was visiting. We spent more time in a coffee shop than the market but it was a good time except for trying to find an entrance to one of the parking garages. Again we enjoyed a bounty of good market food. To show our good times we have a boot shaped gluhwein mug from each market.

This week I am baking and mixing up Patricks coworker presents. I bought new cookie cutters online and plan to make us some sugar cookies today to find out which shapes come out well. Then gingerbread cookies, Chex Muddy Buddies (aka Puppy Chow), Pumpkin Spice Bread, and a few tea bags.

Next weekend we are running errands on Saturday including Chrismas dinner grocery shopping and getting gift exchange presents for Patrick's office party (thats on Monday). Then on Sunday we are going to Rothenburg for their Christmas market. (and if I can drag him into it the Huge Christmas store and museum.) I have been to the medievel walled city before but never at Christmastime and we expect it to be awesome. We are going through Outdoor Recreation so no driving or parking garages for Patrick:D

So thats the update for now. Happy Holidays to all if I dont post again before then.
