After having discussed it with basketcrazy, I read over the "animal control" ordinance for our new town.

Strictly speaking, if we were to let any cats outside, we could be fined 300 bucks per cat per instance.  Yup, cats have to be in enclosures.

Now I'm told that no one pays attention to this stuff, but still.
