Ever since Aaron and I got engaged, we've had countless friends and relatives ask to be involved in some way. Many of our friends are eager for a chance to sing during the ceremony, my aunt has volunteered her son to make my dress and others have asked if their children could be the ring bearer/flower girl. I haven't promised anybody anything because I don't want to end up wearing a mutant bridal gown that has three sleeves, surrounded by 100 bridesmaids and a crowd of hyperkinetic children.
Just this morning, my friend from Goucher Christian Fellowship called me up and asked, "Who's taking care of the Liturgical Dance at your wedding?" She wasn't joking. Many people in GCF go to evangelical churches that consider dance as an integral part of worship, and it's not uncommon to see liturgical dance at a Protestant wedding. I explained to her that we were having a very traditional Catholic wedding, and that interpretive dance and choreographed hand motions have no place in the liturgy, but there may be tasteful dancing at the reception.
Therefore, I can only promise two things: There will be no liturgical dance, and there will be no leggings!
